Hazard Communication Training

This Hazard Communication Training course provides attendees with the information necessary to successfully manage OSHA Hazard Communication and SARA Title III Community Right-To-Know programs.

The morning session focuses on requirements of the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard, and components necessary to implement a functional Hazard Communication Program.

Topics include:

  • Hazardous chemical definitions
  • Chemical characteristics as predictors of worker exposure
  • Interpretation of material safety data sheets
  • Labeling
  • Recordkeeping
  • Training
  • Written program requirements

The afternoon session covers the various reporting requirements of the SARA Title III regulations (Sections 302, 311/312, 313, etc.) and the relationships between the OSHA Hazard Communication Standard and SARA Title III. Review of the various Title III reporting criteria, forms and notifications will be provided.

Hands-on exercises are used in both sessions to reinforce key requirements of these two programs.

Attendees will be provided a copy of course materials.

2 days (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
